Bangladesh is located in the Indian subcontinent, it is bordered on the east by India, on the west by India and the Bay of Bengal to the south. The country is divided into eight time zones, with the central time zone being located at GMT+6. The other time zones are: GMT+5.30, GMT+6.30, GMT+7, GMT+8, GMT+9, GMT+10, and GMT+11.
Bangladesh observes Daylight Savings Time (DST) from the 1st of April until the last Sunday of September, during which the clocks are advanced by one hour. Bangladesh does not observe DST during the winter months, when the clocks are kept at GMT+6.
